Yama first discovered yoga at an outdoor yoga morning session in 2007. After realising that yoga was the best way to release stress and balance his body and mind, he attended 200 hours of hatha yoga teacher training and became a full-time yoga teacher. Yama went to India to learn the most ancient and popular yoga style of Astanga from yoga master Saraswati and then went on to learn from other top teachers – including Chuck Miller, David Kyle, Mark Darby, Vincent Bolletta and Rob. Yama is also a mindfulness meditation teacher trained at the Oxford Mindfulness Centre in the UK. He has accumulated more than 5,000 hours of vipassana meditation experience and is committed to integrating yoga and mindfulness practices to heal the mind and improve happiness through the body. Yama's classes create a safe and supportive energy field. Such an environment leads students to explore suitable yoga practices, emphasise breathing as the medium connecting movement and consciousness, release physical tension, observe and accept their emotions in asanas, and fall in love with themselves again.
